Michael’s
priority when painting a portrait is to convey the character of the person
in a fresh, lively style, whilst retaining an intense likeness.
He works either in oils or acrylics, or with pencil and charcoal, and
prefers to arrange one sitting of about two hours. This enables a relaxed
meeting, both to discuss the end result and to produce initial drawings
backed up by photography.
